The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, on Tuesday paid courtesy visits to former President Nana Akufo-Addo at his office in Labone, Accra, as well as former President John Agyekum Kufuor at Peduase.

The visits comes in the aftermath of the party’s presidential primaries, which concluded with a decisive outcome favouring Dr. Bawumia.
During discussions with Akufo-Addo, the two leaders focused on strategies to strengthen internal party cohesion and the importance of leveraging lessons from past electoral successes.
The engagement highlighted the role of elder statesmen in ensuring continuity and unity within the party.
Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude to Akufo-Addo for his continued support and counsel, acknowledging his encouragement following his nomination as the party’s flagbearer.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to leading a united and stronger NPP ahead of the 2028 general elections.

On the same day, Dr. Bawumia visited former President John Agyekum Kufuor at his Peduase residence.
Both former presidents emphasised the need for reconciliation, unity, and focus on electoral victory, reflecting a shared vision for party cohesion and strategic preparedness.
