The Director-General of Webster University, Crista Sanders Bobtoya, has urged students to make a difference as they embark on their journey into the corporate world.
According to her, although the world was a competitive market, graduands can make a positive impact should they be proactive.
“Those who have graduated, have become equipped with cross-cultural skills and competencies as well as a strong foundation from their academic programs to really achieve and make a difference and impact the society” she stated.
Addressing a graduation ceremony, Madam Bobtoya said despite the global challenges and high unemployment rates in Ghana, the graduates were prepared to face the corporate world.
The Director-General also acknowledged that the class of 2023 is not immune to the rising unemployment rate in the country.
However, she was optimistic that the graduates have a strong academic foundation, needed to navigate the challenges that lay ahead.
“So, I think that the class of 2023, hasn’t faced huge adversities in the world in the last few years. They also know that they are going out to a challenging job market. We have high unemployment for example in Ghana and all over the world. It is challenging and competitive to get the job of tomorrow. But I believe that our students are well equipped,” she added.
The struggle for tomorrow's jobs may seem daunting, nevertheless she said students must be unwavering in determination so they can be catalysts for positive change
Meanwhile, the best student of the 2023-year group, Thelma Adjidjonu urged continuing students to focus on academic work.
