Veteran Ghanaian coach J.E Sarpong says Ghana’s quest of making a fourth successive appearance at the World Cup is ‘’almost over’’ after defeat against Egypt.
The former Ebusua Dwarfs admits it would be extremely difficult for the Black Stars as the team must now win remaining games to stake claim.
The Stars took a mighty blow after losing 2-0 to the Pharaoh’s of Egypt in Alexandria.
The defeat means the Black Stars have just a point from two games and five points off leaders Egypt and three points behind second placed Uganda on the log.
“I think that it’s almost over for us because the way things are going we can all see that it’s not working,” Sarpong told Asempa FM
“Our problem is technical and when Grant was at Chelsea he had all the stars to help but here in Ghana things are not the same.”
“He is the problem may be as I am speaking to you he is not in Ghana he is actually on his way to Europe and that is exactly the problem.”
"As for the qualification I must admit it's almost over because even the players are not motivated to play again."
The Black Stars next game is against Congo in Accra next year August.
