A leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Boabeng Asamoah says Ghanaians are raving and ranting out of frustration of worsening economic conditions in the country.
According to him, as a responsible opposition; the NPP will not sit aloof and allow the incompetent John Mahama-led administration to plunge the country into an abyss.
Yaw Boabeng Asamoah was reacting to President Mahama’s call on critics to offer constructive criticisms on national issues for accelerated development instead of venting their frustration on radio.
Speaking at the 120th anniversary of the Accra Archdiocese of the Catholic Church in Accra over the weekend, the president said "it doesn’t pay to vent our frustration on radio talk show programmes; if we must build a better and prosperous nation all of us need to come together and act in consent”.
President Mahama added that “the quest to build a desirable, prosperous and better Ghana is the responsibility of all of us".
But speaking Tuesday on Oman FM’s National Agenda, Mr. Boabeng Asamoah said “we are raving and ranting because we are frustrated under this endemic corrupt administration”.
According to him, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration since it came to power, has done nothing than to exacerbate the hardship in the country.
The aspiring NPP General Secretary could not fathom why the president wants Ghanaians to help him govern the country when he promised a Better Ghana.
He noted that Ghanaians voted for the NDC for better living standards and thus President Mahama cannot shirk his responsibility by asking the citizenry for help.
He maintained that the president henceforth, will not be treated with kids gloves until he fulfills all his promises.
