A management consultant and entrepreneur, Ekow Hackman has been sworn in as the board chairman of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST).
He replaces the immediate past chairman, Acheampong Kyei, who resigned recently. Mr Hackman was sworn in together with Mrs Comfort Aniagyei, who also becomes a member of the board.
The Deputy Minister of Energy in charge of Petroleum, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, who swore in the board chairman and board member, charged them to work with the other members of the Board to give BOST the needed direction to fulfil its mandate.
He also urged the board and management of BOST to work together in harmony. He stressed that management and boards of all state institutions must realize that they are working for the people of Ghana and that the President has appointed them to work together for the development of Ghana.
On his part, the new board chairman thanked the President for the honour done him. He also thanked the Minister for Energy, John Peter Amewu and his deputies for agreeing to work with him.
He assured the minister of his commitment to lead the board to help achieve the vision for setting up BOST.
Background
Ekow Hackman is currently the Managing Director of H-ENDEAVOUR Limited an equity investment and consulting company.
He has experience in offering consultancy services to a wide range of companies, starting from his early days at Ukays Commercial Associates and Bernel Limited. He has also consulted for multinationals such as Alcatel, Thomas CSF and Electricite de France (EDF).
As an Entrepreneur he set up pineapple farms and mango orchard at Bawjiase and Kofi Quaye in the Eastern region, exporting produce to Europe under Ukays Tropical products and Unifruit Limited.
He was instrumental in the setting up of Peelco Limited, a fruit processing Company at Bawjiase in the Central Region. He worked as a Research Officer at the Bank of Ghana in the early days of his career.
He holds a BSc in Economics with specialization in International Trade Development and schooled at the King’s School, Canterbury in the United Kingdom.
He is 56 years and married with three daughters.
Background of Comfort Aniagyei
Mrs Comfort Aniagyei holds an MBA, (Accounting Option) from the University of Ghana. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA-UK) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA-Ghana).
She is currently the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) with over 24 years management experience in the Oil and Gas Sector Spanning Exploration, Appraisal, Development, Production and Marketing.
She has extensive experience working with various government stakeholders like the parliament of Ghana, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Finance, Bank of Ghana etc.
She has managed processes leading to the arrangement and raising of capital for various major projects in the Oil and Gas Sector.
Mrs Aniagyei’s corporate governance expertise has impacted positively on the administration of GNPC through phases of the corporation’s life.
