Award winning performer Sarkodie currently on a tour of the United States of America, over the weekend thrilled fans and music lovers in New York with his style of rap.
The event put together by TM Entertainment took place at Gauchos, an indoor basketball court in Bronx which also serves as an entertainment events centre.
During Sarkodie’s performance, an apparently drunk fan threw a bottle at him as he performed several of his fast-paced raps, including “Borga”. The ‘assailant’, thought to be a Ghanaian, was rapidly whisked out of the venue by security personnel.
Artistes who performed at the event include Jay Ghartey, Squadee, Akwadaa Nyame, Kill Mic, B-nice, Dedd Buddy and a host of others.
Though Kwaw Kesse was billed to perform, time did not allow him.
The event was MCed by FLIPMAN, a Ghanaian radio personality from UNIIQ FM currently living in the States.
Maryland will be Sarkodie’s second stop and is expected to be the biggest event of his tour, expected to take him to other towns in the states.
Come Saturday, Boston, Massachusetts will be his next stop, followed by Atlanta Georgia.
Sarkodie, with DJ Mensah as his official DJ, is expected to stay in the states for a few more days before returning to Ghana.
