Sunderland’s new defender Titus has hailed John Mensah as a ‘fantastic defender’ after playing alongside the Ghana deputy captain in their first Premier League game of the season on Saturday.
Bramble made his debut for the Black Cats, but was left to rue two late goals as Blues took a point from the season-opening clash.
Bramble helped fend off Birmingham City’s attacking threat alongside John Mensah, who rejoined the club on loan from Lyon last week.
Mensah put in a superb display at centre back and Bramble admitted he’s a big fan, saying the imposing Ghanaian is living up to his reputation.
And he also described himself as “delighted” with his welcome from a near-40,000 crowd inside the Stadium of Light.
“John was fantastic,” Bramble admitted.
“I’d heard a lot about him and he proved everything people have been saying about him right today.
“He is a fantastic defender.
“I was delighted with my reception. The fans have been brilliant with me all pre-season and it was the same today.
