Mr Thomas Ofori-Donkor, Atwima-Nwabiagya District Chief Executive, has advised parents especially nursing mothers to breast feed their babies to ensure healthy growth. He explained that breast milk was a natural nutritious food that helped babies to grow healthy both physically and mentally. The DCE was speaking at the celebration of the World Breast feeding Week at Amodum-Adankwame in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District on Monday. The programme designed to create awareness and sensitise mothers on the need to breastfeed their babies was on the theme: "Breastfeeding, The First Hour, Saves One Million Babies". Mr Ofori-Donkor deplored the practice where some parents replaced breast milk with solid foods at very tender age.
