Medeama put up a stunning performance to record their first win and maintain hopes of qualifying to the semi-final of the CAF Confederation Cup.
A brace from Medeama's Confederation Cup top scorer Abass Mohammed and a goal from Daniel Amoah helped the Tarkwa-based club to a resounding 3-1 win over Young Africans in Sekondi on Tuesday.
The win sees Medeama still occupy the third position with the same points, five, as second placed MO Bejaia who have a game in hand against table toppers TP Mazembe.
For Young Boys, they are no more in contention to reach the semis.
The Yellow and Mauves showed their intent right from the blast of the referees' whistle as they mounted ceaseless pressure on their opponents.
Under 20 defender Daniel Amoah opened the scoring in the 7th minute. However,Malik Akowuah squandered a wonderful chance to double the lead as he miss a penalty.
But Abass redeemed Akowuah by scoring the second goal, much to the delight of fans at the Stadium. Abass has scored a total of six goals in the competition, with this being his first in the group stage.
The visitors halved the deficit through Msuva Saimon but Abass superbly restored the two goal margin to end the first half.
Medeama should have scored more in the second department but failed.
