The National Road Safety Commission in the Central Region has confirmed the death of three people in a car crush last night in Cape Coast in the region.
Joy News regional correspondent, Richard Kojo Nyarko said the accident occurred near the Ghana National College.
The victims - two males and a female - were the occupants of a Toyota Corolla which ran into an oncoming articulated truck.
Nephew of one of the victims told Joy News the uncle worked with mobile telecommunication giant, MTN.
He said the deceased were returning from a programme organised by the MTN at the Fetu Afehye, a festival celebrated by the people of Cape Coast, when they encountered the unfortunate incident.
He told Joy News he was informed that the uncle had attempted to overtake another vehicle but could not avoid a collision with the articulated vehicle, whose driver they said had tried his best to prevent the mishap.
