A team of 52 Medical Doctors from the Charismatic Evangelistic Ministry have rendered free medical services to the people of Bole and it surrounding communities in the Northern Region.
As part of the churches social responsibility they have formed a health ministry which is run as charity to reach out to the poor, particularly those in rural communities.
As early as 6am, Saint Kizito School Park was full to the brim with multitudes of patients in long queues waiting for the arrival of the medical team.
The leader of the team, Dr. Ofori Adjei said the church usually embarked on outreach programs to preach the word of God and it was based on their visit that they realized that apart from service to God the people also have some needs pertaining to their health.
Dr. Ofori said in their interaction with the people, they realized that majority of the people, especially the children, were malnourished with poverty just staring them in the face.
She said the cases that they could manage on sight were attended; some were also referred to the Bole hospital while others were referred to Accra for further medical attention.
Apart from attending to them, Dr. Ofori said they were educated on personal hygiene and given foodstuffs and soap to take care of their household needs.
Dr. Ofori called on other churches and Non Governmental Organizations to come to the aid of the people because government alone cannot shoulder that responsibility.
A member of the church, lawyer Yonny Kulendi was full of praise to the team of doctors and all those who made it possible. He lauded contributions made by Vice President John Dramani Mahama and Alhaji Asuma Banda, saying Alhaji Asuma of Antrak Air did not only give a significant discount but he made direct personal contribution in cash to make the airlift possible.
Mr. Kulendi added the trip was possible due to the contributions made by members by the church. ‘’Members of the church who makes contributions, sacrifices because Christ basically commands his followers to feed the hungry, put clothes on the back of the naked, visit the destitute, visit those in prison and take care of them’’
