Newly appointed technical adviser of the Black stars Emmanuel Kwesi Afranie is glad over the level of competition currently ensuing in the 30 man call up ahead of the double header against Lesotho and Zambia in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers and believes big names are likely to be missing in the final 23.
The former Black stars coach witnessed two days of work out of the team for the first time under the tutelage of local coach Akwesi Appiah and his assistant Maxwell Konadu at the Accra Sports Stadium.
"I am happy about these new call up, because there are no big names and the senior ones in there need to fight hard for positions because the young ones are aggressive to make the final squad and i like their fighting spirit." he told JOY Sports
The team will be pruned down to 23 players for the 2014 World Cup
qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia on June 1 and June 9 respectively.
The team play a warm up game on Thursday with third tier side Prampram United at the Accra Sports Stadium
