Immediate past Black Satellites coach, Sellas Tetteh, has agreed a two-year contract to take over as coach of the Rwandan national soccer team, nicknamed the Wasps.
He will also be in charge of that country’s U-20 side. Tetteh has been mandated to lead Rwanda to the African Cup of Nations in 2012.
Rwandan Sports Minister Joseph Habineza says they will count on Tetteh’s vast experience and his record as the first African to lead a team to win the FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
“First of all, he has to take us to...the African Cup of Nations in 2012,” Mr Habineza said.
Sellas Tetteh last year led Ghana’s junior soccer team the Black Satellites to win the U-20 African cup, a feat that thrust him into the international limelight.
