A New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Group known as Friends of Ambrose Dery on Wednesday appealed to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, flag bearer of the NPP to consider nominating Mr Ambrose Dery, Minister of State at the Ministry of Justice as his running mate.
They contended that "The performance of Mr Dery as former Upper West Regional Minister and Minister of State at Ministry of Justice has projected him as a very competent person with immense knowledge and ability for the post".
These were contained in a statement issued and signed by Mr Pascal Gyireh, Leader of the group and copied to Ghana News Agency (GNA).
It said the two and half years of Mr Dery as Upper West Regional Minister did not only witness many development projects in the Region, but also attracted many floating voters to join the NPP.
On the campaign for Election 2008, they called on the leadership of NPP to expedite action on the release of campaign strategies to enable them start for victory.
“The NPP under President John Agyekum Kufuor embarked on massive development projects that would serve as a tool for the electorate to return the Party into power. We need to work hard to avoid a run-off,“ it added.
