A 46-year-old Communication Consultant, Madam Otiko Afisa Jaba has been elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary aspirant for the Bole constituency in Election 2008.
She polled 28 votes out of the 75 votes cast to beat Madam Elizabeth Salamatu Forgo, former Bole District Chief Executive who had 26 votes and Mr Issahaku Kotomah who had 21 votes.
The election was conducted by Upper West Regional Executive Committee of the Party was supervised by officials of the Electoral Commission.
Madam Jaba pledged to assist the people to develop the area with basic infrastructure such as electricity, good roads, water and schools.
She said as a development practitioner, she would ensure women in the area were empowered with basic employable skills to reduce poverty and ensure children attend school.
Madam Forgor and Mr Kotomah pledged to rally behind Madam Jaba for NPP to win the seat.
