Cracks are beginning to emerge in the US branch of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), following recent statement issued by Ama Adumea Ohene General Secretary of the CPP ultra which called for the dismissal of Freddie Blay incumbent MP for Ellembele.
The statement also criticised the party’s flag bearer Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom for walking out of Parliament, during the ratification of the 70% government shares of Ghana Telecom to Vodafone.
However, another group CPP Inc. has distanced itself from the statement, claiming their branch is solidly behind the party.
The Executive Committee of the CPP USA- Inc has denounced the statements made by Prof. Adumea, who they claim, resigned in July this year as General Secretary of the ultra branch.
Interim Chairman of the USA Inc, Dr. S.O Asante tells ASEMPA NEWS that, "the Executive Committee of CPP USA- Inc views Prof. Adumea´s comments as a deception intended to represent the position of the committee".
Dr. Asante further described Prof. Adumea´s CPP-Ultra as an organization hostile to the good traditions of the CPP.
He was emphatic that, "the CPP-USA Inc will ignore the negativity of Ms. Adumea and focus on those positive things, members in the Diaspora can do to assist the party get out of political wilderness.
