Songwriter and musician, Raphael Kofi Attachie, better known by his stage name Camidoh, says the purpose of criticism is to distract people who are focused.
According to him, among the two ways of critique (positive and negative), the negative ones are dominating factors in Ghana, which he believes are distractive.
Speaking on Prime Morning on Thursday, the Afropop artiste revealed how he dealt with criticism as an upcoming musician.
“Sometimes it’s just their opinion, but it’s so negative that it comes across as a very distracting type of criticism. That I have a problem with, but I try to just stay away so that I don’t get distracted because obviously, it is meant to distract you,” he told Roselyn Felli.
However, Camidoh believes that, despite all criticism, the ultimate goal of achieving one’s goals is to be focused.
Using himself as an example, the songwriter explained how people criticized his career with the notion that he sounded Nigerian, but he never gave up.
“I feel like it’s just talk, and people are always going to have opinions, so it’s fine,” he said.
The “Sugacane” hitmaker also revealed that the remix of the song has been his favorite collaboration, as it helped him break into the industry.
He also teases a hair color change by the middle of the year.
The musician, on the other hand, is focused on longevity, as he is collaborating with his label to release more projects this year.
