In a major step towards digital transformation in Ghana's SME sector, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI) has partnered with U.S.-based technology firm CYDEO to train 1,500 small and medium enterprise (SME) owners on automated enterprise HR resource management. The 6-day intensive training program, held in Accra from January 14th to 20th, 2020, forms part of the SME Growth and Opportunity Program aimed at modernizing business operations and enhancing compliance through the adoption of CYDEO's innovative HR Vista platform.
The training, facilitated by CYDEO's Product Development and Marketing Manager, Mr. Kosim Shukurov, equipped participants with critical knowledge on leveraging HR Vista for workforce management, payroll automation, and compliance tracking. Mr. Shukurov, who played a key role in customizing the platform for the Ghanaian market, guided attendees through hands-on sessions, ensuring they fully understood the platform's capabilities and benefits.
Several participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity and praised the Ministry for its commitment to empowering SMEs:
For instance, Ms. Julie Koomson, Managing Director of BrightPath Logistics said "This training has been a game-changer for my business. HR Vista's payroll automation will save us time and reduce errors, allowing us to focus more on growth. I commend the Ministry for facilitating this impactful programme."
Similarly Mr. Kwasi Ansah, CEO of GreenHarvest Farms: "I now understand how to better manage my workforce and track performance efficiently. The Ministry's collaboration with CYDEO has truly empowered us with the right tools for success."
Mrs. Yaa Asantewaa, HR Manager of Royal Crest Hotels further added “This initiative by MoTI and CYDEO is a big step forward for SMEs. The practical insights we gained from Mr. Kosim and his team will enhance our HR operations tremendously."
Hon. Alan Kyerematen, Minister for Trade and Industry, commended CYDEO and Mr. Kosim Shukurov for exceeding expectations in delivering the training and reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to supporting digital innovations that drive SME growth.
"We deeply appreciate CYDEO and Mr. Kosim Shukurov for their outstanding contribution to this initiative. Their expertise and dedication have empowered our SMEs with cutting-edge HR management tools, paving the way for business automation and efficiency. This partnership is a clear demonstration of our commitment to fostering digital transformation in Ghana's business sector," said Hon. Kyerematen.
Mr. Kosim Shukurov, on his part, expressed his gratitude to the Government of Ghana and the Ministry of Trade and Industry for their unwavering support for small and medium business automation.
"I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Government of Ghana and MoTI for their commitment to driving digital transformation in the SME sector. It has been an honor to work with Ghanaian business leaders, and I am confident that HR Vista will play a key role in streamlining their operations and driving sustainable growth," stated Mr. Shukurov.
The successful training program not only marked a milestone in SME digital transformation but also opened avenues for future collaborations between CYDEO and Ghanaian institutions, further strengthening the U.S.-Ghana business alliance.
