Dark Suburb will share their story in the EVIBES musical band series this weekend.
Dark suburb is an Afro rock band built on a concept of the Alkebulanian (African) masquerade culture and the skeleton. A social development concept of the deprived (dark suburbs of society) evolving their own opportunities through art and culture.
The band seeks to be a voice for the deprived (urban slum dwellers and rural poor), addressing issues of poverty, corruption, peace and unity through their music, story telling and art form and taking action by investing in projects and programs that stimulate community development with the deprived themselves.
E Vibes, the show that delves into the backgrounds of celebrated personalities excelling in their chosen fields, is focusing this season on music bands in Ghana.
Dubbed #MusicalBandSeries, the programme is dedicated to celebrating and highlighting the incredible journeys of Ghanaian musical bands, showcasing their triumphs, challenges, and the bonds that keep them together.
According to producer Becky, “The idea is to delve into the stories of these talented groups, exploring their humble beginnings, their rise to fame, and the obstacles they've overcome along the way."
"Through exclusive performances, behind-the-scenes access, and interviews, we'll give the audience a unique perspective on the Ghanaian music scene.” We owe "The Musical Band Series" to music lovers across the country," she added.
The E Vibes show strives to evoke memories through the setting of the interview and their rise, the memories they made on their way to the top with the hope that their unique stories will help shape the younger generation.
Since taking off in November 2020, some of the biggest icons in music, movies and the political space have been featured on the show.
Personalities such as Amakye Dede, Mercy Asiedu, Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Yaw Tog, Emelia Brobbey, Nigeria’s Mr. P, Mama Zimbi, D’JA, MzVee, Rapper Edem, Kuami Eugene, Joe Mettle, Kwabena Kwabena and others were featured on the previous seasons of the show.
