"For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,[a] 8 and the two will become one flesh.’[b] So they are no longer two, but one flesh,” this the gospel according to Mark 10:7-8 (NIV)
Dear Mr/Mrs,
I hope this letter reaches you well. Following the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19 worldwide, health experts immediately advised against physical contact.
This they say is to prevent the spread of the virus since it is transferable through droplets from infected persons or by touching infected surfaces and then their face.
We have been advised against shaking hands, giving hugs, in fact, we are to practice ‘social distancing’.
Now to my question, how are you coping as a couple?
It won’t be far-fetched to say all forms of intimacy are literally banned during this period when the nation is trying to battle the deadly virus.
I’m wondering if you as a husband have stopped hugging your wife and kids because you are being very cautious.
Do you still share a bed at night in the face of the World Health Organisation (WHO)’s directive of staying “at least 1 metre (3 feet)” away from anyone who is coughing or sneezing?
Do you still satisfy each other’s sexual needs at night?
I have so many questions that need answers. I am concerned and worried because, in a bid to throw all care to the wind, you may be at risk of contracting COVID-19.
After all, anyone could be a disease vector. Sadly, this includes your wife, husband or kids.
As the President said, in his address to the nation on Sunday, March 15."These are not ordinary times,"
My last two pesewas, I suggest you try as much as possible to stay safe during this period by practising social distancing. Kindly, couple this with all other precautionary measures given by the government and the WHO.
I hope to hear from you soon, sending love and light to you and the family.
Your dear friend,
Seraphine.
