Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has announced the upcoming launch of his new book titled A Peaceful Man in an African Democracy, which pays tribute to the late President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills.
The launch is expected to take place later this year, thirteen years after the passing of the former Ghanaian leader.
In a statement shared on social media on Thursday, July 24, Dr Omane Boamah expressed his excitement about the long-awaited publication.
“I'm thrilled to announce that my book, A Peaceful Man In An African Democracy, will be launched later this year! President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills died 13 years ago! Rest in perfect peace, Prof,” he wrote.
The book, he revealed, recounts the inspiring legacy of the late president, highlighting his contributions to peace, stability, and democratic governance in Ghana and beyond.

“This book tells the inspiring story of President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, a true leader who dedicated his life to serving Ghana and promoting peace, stability, and democracy in Africa,” Dr Boamah stated.
Dr Boamah explained that the launch was initially scheduled for 2024 but had to be postponed due to his key role as Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“I had to prioritise my role in ensuring our party's success in the crucial 2024 elections. Now that the elections are over, I'm excited to finally share this important work,” he noted, urging the public to stay tuned for further updates and exclusive content ahead of the book’s release.
