Media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, has petitioned the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) of the Ghana Police to investigate one lady claiming to be her housemaid.
A video of the young lady claiming that Delay had a daughter went viral during a feud between the TV personality and Afia Schwarzenegger.
However, the lawyers of Delay have refuted the claims made by the young lady, adding Delay does not know her at all.
“Our Client's attention has been drawn to a video in circulation of a young girl who, among others, misrepresents to the public that she has been a house help for our Client. Our Client says she does not know her and has never had any dealings with her.”
They stated that Delay is worried about the misrepresentations made by the lady and other people, especially since there have been reports of some people using those claims to induce favours and other personal gains from unsuspecting people.
“Our Client, therefore, implores your office to investigate the issue and where any criminal culpability is established, to trigger appropriate proceedings to abate this behaviour. We have attached a copy of the video and other publications for your perusal,” parts of the petition read.
They added that some people spread these falsehoods to attract attention from unsuspecting Ghanaians to their social media handles.
Hence, they are counting on the Police to investigate to help put an end to such a phenomenon, the lawyers added.
