The Minister of State nominee for Public Sector Reforms, Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba, has underscored that digitalisation is a crucial driver for transforming the country's public sector.
Speaking before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Monday, February 24, she explained that, while digitalisation plays an important role in the reform process, it cannot be the sole factor.
"I cannot just say that I am going to leverage digitalisation alone," she said.
"It is the Ministry of Communications that will provide the necessary infrastructure, and communication gadgets that we can leverage to bring reforms in the public sector, "she concluded.
