Many centers set up by the National Identification Authority to issue out Ghana cards in Kumasi have been unable to discharge their duty.
In areas like, Asokwa, Asokore Mampong and Bantama, applicants were turned away either because they could not find their names in the album of names provided by officials of the NIA or albums were unavailable.
This situation made it impossible for people to check their names and take the cards.
Speaking to JoyNews NIA boss, Ken Attafuah assured the issue would be resolved the cards distributed.
He said in places where an extension is needed for the distribution, it would be extended.
The Authority halted its activities after the outbreak of Covid-19 and lockdown implemented.
Last week, the NIA began issuing the backlog of cards it had in its possession.
