Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, President of Ɔdadeɛ Global and renowned Ghanaian business magnate, was on Monday, April 14, honoured with a distinguished proclamation as an Outstanding Citizen of the State of Georgia, USA.
The symbolic and historic event took place at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta, inside the House of Representatives chamber, where legislators, business leaders, and members of the African diaspora gathered to honour Dr. Ofori Sarpong’s exemplary contributions to global business and philanthropy.
The award was formally presented by the Segun Adeyina, leader of the Georgia State Representatives, as part of the “Africa Speaks” forum — a unique platform jointly organised by the Georgia Africa Legislative Caucus and the Ghana International Chamber of Commerce (GHICC).

The event focused on world affairs, business development, and the critical role of policy in shaping global progress.
In a heartfelt proclamation signed by Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, Dr. Ofori Sarpong was recognised not only for his entrepreneurial impact across Ghana and the African continent but also for serving as a goodwill ambassador of the State of Georgia to other parts of the world.
“May this Outstanding Citizen be afforded every courtesy as a Goodwill Ambassador from Georgia in his travels to other states, to nations beyond the borders of the United States of America,” the proclamation read.
The Georgia House of Representatives further recognised and commended Dr. Ofori Sarpong through a formal resolution that chronicled his journey from humble beginnings to becoming a global business icon. His ventures — from Sarpong Ventures to the Special Group of Companies — were lauded for their transformative impact.
The resolution also highlighted his role as co-founder of Best Point Savings and Loans, his strategic involvement in Ghana’s economic growth, and his far-reaching philanthropic initiatives.

Dr. Sarpong’s leadership was described as a “beacon of determination, resilience, and success in the global business landscape.”
As Ɔdadeɛ Global President, Dr. Ofori Sarpong has been a towering symbol of the values instilled at Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC), embodying excellence, leadership, and service.
His recognition by the State of Georgia adds a prestigious feather to his already illustrious cap and serves as an inspiration for many across the African continent and beyond.
The event concluded with resounding applause and a renewed call for deepening partnerships between Africa and the diaspora, with Dr. Sarpong’s legacy continuing to bridge continents through entrepreneurship and goodwill.
