The Founder and Chief Medical Director of ChildAccra, a foremost family medical center in Accra, has been presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the South Africa-based CEO Global during an awards ceremony organized at the Airport West Hotel in Accra.
The award, which is in recognition of the renowned paediatrician’s dedication and commitment to the welfare and development of women and children, adds up to a plethora of other awards that have been conferred on Dr Tuakli from across the globe.
Dr Tuakli has received a wide-range of awards for writing about children and children’s health; work and fight against HIV/AIDs; and even growing flowers and exporting flowers (being the first person to export flowers from Ghana).
With respect to this award from CEO Global, she was picked from over four thousand (4000) nominees who had been selected from across the West and Central Africa region. In attendance at the event were several other awardees drawn from the Western and Central part of Africa.

Sharing her joy after receiving the award, Dr Tuakli revealed that the award means a lot to her. According to her “It is a very special honour when one is recognized by a jury of one’s peers…the fact that women, for whom I have spent an enormous amount of my life supporting, working for, nurturing and caring for are now awarding me this as a lifetime achievement award makes it extremely special to me.”
She further adds that receiving this award “thrusts greater responsibility on me and indicates the need to continue to be a role model.” “Indeed, I shall continue to spend the rest of the years that God gives me in active duty supporting the roles of women, the health of women and their children” she concludes.
Maureen Odoi, the Ghana Programme Director of CEO Global giving a brief on the award says of it as “a continent-wide independent awards that seek to identify private and public sector actors who are really excelling in their fields of endeavours.” “The awards are divided into various categories spanning SME Development, Media, Education and Training, Medicine, Building and Construction and Agribusiness” she adds.
According to her, organizers have segmented the continent into four regions with each region holding a sub-regional award. At the end of it all, a continental award will be held in South Africa later in the year with participants drawn from the winners of the regional awards.
