The Juaso Circuit Court has remanded a driver in prison custody for allegedly possessing narcotic drugs.
Job Jonah Apam, 35, pleaded not guilty to the charge and will re-appear on February 21.
Chief Inspector Stephen Opare of the Konongo police told the court that on February 2, Apam was driving a bus from Kumasi to Accra with passengers and stopped at Konongo to refuel.
There, the Konongo police received information that there were some armed robbers on board the vehicle.
The driver, together with the passengers, were arrested and sent to the police station but a search on them revealed nothing.
When the bus was searched four large bags filled with leaves suspected to be Indian hemp were found.
The driver could not identify the owner of the bags and was therefore charged with the offence.
