Undefeated WBO Africa bantamweight champion Duke Micah is focused a convincing win in his title defense against Nigeria's Yakuub Kareem on August 6.
The bout to be staged at the Accra Stadium and put together by UK based- Street Wise Sports Management will see Duke Micah also guard his clean record of 17 wins.
In an interview with Joy Sports at his Bronx Gym in Accra, Ghana, Micah said he was ready for the defense. "I am very ready for Kareem. This what I have been preparing for all these months.
I love to train and take all the possible punishment ion the ring to get in good shape. That's my work and I want to deliver this win to Ghanaians as I continue my journey to world title success," he added.
Micah who trains under Lawrence Carl Lokko at the Bronx Gym in Accra is an Olympian from the London 2012 Games, where he reached the second round. He was the only boxer from Ghana to have achieved that feat.

Duke who is currently ranked number 14 in the WBOs rankings in the bantamweight division, looks forward to securing his 18th win though he has loads of respect for his opponent.
"I know that success does not come cheap so I will work hard for it. Kareem is a good boxer and would want to cause an upset here in my home but I will not allow that," he said.
The Micah-Kareem bout will headline a bill that will also feature the national welterweight championship between Isaac Aryee of the Black Panthers Gym and Benjamin Ankrah of the Bronx Gym.

Also on the bill is a final 12-round elimination bout for the national super welterweight title between Abdul Aziz Quartey and Kpakpo Allotey of the Bronx Gym over 10 rounds.
