Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has delivered a stirring message of ambition and integrity to Ghana’s top-performing students, urging them to pursue excellence while upholding strong moral values.
Speaking at the 2025 WAEC Distinction Awards ceremony in Accra, Mr Iddrisu commended the awardees for their academic brilliance, encouraging them to aim high but remain grounded in honesty and character.
“I want to proudly congratulate the awardees and wish you well,” the Minister said.
“Walk shoulder high with confidence, be proud of the training you have gotten from your parents and teachers. Dream big, but act with character, and act with integrity,” he added.
The Minister congratulated the honourees for their exceptional academic performance but urged them not to lose sight of the values that will sustain them beyond the classroom.
“You can pass exams with honesty, and you must proceed with honesty. You have nothing to walk with into the world without integrity. I am urging you preserve it. It is your greatest ever asset,” he said.
The WAEC Distinction Awards celebrate the highest-performing candidates in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
This year’s honourees were recognised for their academic excellence across a range of subjects and regions.
