Education Ministry says it will ensure this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will be without any malpractices by pupils, invigilators or supervisors.

Over 438 thousand pupils across Ghana are expected to write the week-long exam.

In previous years there have been malpractices associated with BECE but the ministry says security has been tightened against any breach of exam regulations.

Public Relation Officer at the ministry Francis Gbadago says examination materials have been delivered to all the centers by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).

He urged candidates, supervisors and invigilators to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations governing the examinations.

Meanwhile, WAEC says it is dissatisfied that a year after an officer and two others were caught leaking examination papers to students at Asiwa in Ashanti region the culprits are yet to be prosecuted.

Lance Corporal Prince Opoku, Kingsley Isaac Aidoo, a supervisor and Obed Opoku, a driver were paid Ȼ4,000 to help students cheat in the exams.

Head of WAEC, Rev. Samuel Ollennu says it has been a year and the police are yet to take action.
