The Reverend Father Doctor Anthony Afful-Broni, Senior Lecturer and Head, Department of Psychology and Education, University of Education Winneba (EUW) has said the practice of occultism is now pervasive in the society, especially in the schools. He said occultism, drugs and sex, ought to be condemned since they had damaging effects on human beings and society in general. Rev. Fr. Dr. Afful-Broni was speaking at the 3rd Archdiocese of Cape Coast Catholic Men's Fellowship Conference under the theme; “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another” at Ajumako. Speaking on the topic: “We are Catholic Men of Christ, Called by God to Grow Through his Church, Bring Him to Others and Bring our vision to Fruition," Afful-Broni said administrators, teachers, guardians and counseling coordinators, chaplains, parents and student leaders are overwhelmed by the fast pace at which occultism seems to be spreading in the country. He emphasised that Christians should make it an obligation to use the Bible to sensitize those involved in such acts to eschew it. Rev. Afful-Broni advised members of the fellowship to be law abiding, lead lives worthy of emulation and contribute towards the socio-economic development of the area. Dr. Paul Naah, Senor Lecturer at Department of Applied Linguistics, Coordinator, Communication Skills Unity, UEW said, without God’s guidance, interventions and His Grace man cannot achieve his aims and therefore advised the members to always give thanks to Him in every situation they may be in. He urged them to let the word of God be their weapon to withstand challenges they encountered and help others to come out of their hardships as Christ Jesus did. Source: GNA
