The 41st National Farmers’ Day celebration in Ejisu concluded on a high note with a renewed call for sustained investment, innovation, and policy support to strengthen Ghana’s agricultural sector.
Speaking at the event, Alexander Owusu, representing the Member of Parliament for Ejisu, lauded the dedication and resilience of local farmers.
“As a constituency, we value our farmers. Hon. Kwabena Boateng believes that rewarding excellence motivates more excellence.
This tricycle is not just a gift—it is a tool that will enhance productivity, transportation, and overall efficiency on the farm,” Mr Owusu said, presenting a tricycle to the Municipal Best Farmer, Kyeame Kwame Serbe.

The municipal assembly also pledged continuous collaboration with stakeholders across the agriculture value chain to empower farmers and support sector growth. The colourful event, held at Asotwe, assembled farmers, dignitaries, and community members under the theme, “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future.”
Kyeame Kwame Serbe expressed his gratitude for the award and the gift, noting it will ease the transport of farm produce from the field to the market.
The ceremony underscored the central role of farmers in ensuring food security, boosting local economies, and reinforcing agriculture as the backbone of national development.
Municipal Chief Executive Jerryne Asante and other officials encouraged stakeholders to continue innovating and investing in agriculture, emphasising that recognition of outstanding farmers can inspire broader excellence in the sector.
