The Head of Retail Banking at Energy Bank is impressing on ATM card users on the need to notify their Relationship Managers when travelling to ensure the safety of their monies.
According to Kenneth Ashailey Okine, information of a customer’s location at any point in time should help reduce ATM fraud.
"We have various application systems that are monitoring cards minute by minute," he said adding they can see all transactions of their customers irrespective of where they carry them out.
Speaking at the bank’s customer week celebration in Tamale, he explained that for their customers who mostly transact business locally, if the manager sees a transaction in Nigeria for instance, it raises a red flag to the bag.
Meanwhile, Executive Director of Energy Bank, Isaac Shadowo, has emphasized the bank’s name does not necessarily represent a focus on the energy sector to the neglect of other sectors in its operations.
According to him, though the bank is meeting the sophisticated needs of the oil and gas sector, it has more innovative products that cut across all the sectors of the economy.
He was speaking in the Takoradi Branch as part of the customer appreciation week celebration.
"The Energy name means to energise, we want to give strength to our customer. The energy does not remain peculiar to the oil or energy sector. We are into commercial banking and whereby we provide an absolute solution to customers needs," he said.
Mr Shadowo said they are here to ensure clients business is viable and contribute their quota to Ghana's economy.
