Boxing Referee Roger Barnor says he is excited on his return to Professional boxing and has promised to improve on his officiating standards. The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has lifted a three match ban imposed on referee Barnor after he was suspended for some controversial decisions in the World Boxing Organization(WBO) and World Boxing Authority International Super Featherweight Championship bout between Emmanuel Tagoe and Robald Pontilas at the Accra Sports Stadium in April this year. A statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of the GBA said the referee will henceforth be allowed to officiate in both local and international fights after serving the ban. According to the returning Boxing ring official recounted, his loss during the exile in an interview with JOY Sports. "I miss the sport very well, I miss some cash too ,at least some thousands of dollars have gone down the drain but the most important is that am back. Barnor added his experience in the pugilistic sport will prove vital in his come back and is urged lovers of the sport to expect up to scratch performances. "I promise doing the best and intend to do the best, i have been in this job for two decades and am here to prove myself again. to be at the level I was if not better than that, I will still prove a point in any boxing bout am handed .Ghanaians should expect the good old Referee Barnor "he said with smiles. Referee Barnor hinted his first assignment will be an international bout and was careful to give away any details. "I know I will be back in the ring soon ,there are number of options, I can only tell you it will be an international bout but cant disclose any details to you" he added. It will be recalled Roger Barnor rescinded his decision to quit officiating in the sport in May this year, after announcing his premature retirement following what he described as an unfair criticism in the Emmanuel Tagoe – Ronald Pontillas world title bout in the second edition of the Baby Jet Promotions last month. He was talked out of his resignation by top officials of the Ghana Boxing Authority.
