President Nana Akufo-Addo says government's decision to ease some restrictions were approved by extensive stakeholder consultations.
He stated that he knew the devastating impact of the measures employed to defeat the virus has had on some bodies and organisations, therefore, with some stakeholder consultations some restrictions were eased.
"As I have already said, everything that has been achieved, so far, would not have been possible without the strong co-operation of you, the Ghanaian people.
"I know, at firsthand, the devastating impact the measures employed to defeat the virus has had on our social, religious, cultural and economic lives, as well as on our jobs, and the education of our children, and yet, because of the love of country, we have borne with them.
"I know, however, that we cannot live with these restrictions forever, and that it is imperative we find a safe way to return our lives to normality, as other nations across the globe are trying to do.
He said the stakeholder consultations occurred over the last few weeks with entities in the health, labour, religious, chieftaincy, educational, hospitality, transport, sports, tourism and creative arts sectors.
According to him, the consultations hinged on an analysis of the data gathered and the adoption of best practices and experiences of other countries that have attempted to move on in the wake of the pandemic," he stated.
Bodies which benefited from the president's easing of restrictions include the schools and places of worship.
However, some bodies including bars, amusement occasions, political rallies, hotels, and clubs are still not in operation until further notice.
