Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy believes his side have been hit massively by the knee injury to Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.
The Ghana international is expected to be out for several months after picking up a knee injury last month.
Issahaku suffered the setback during the Black Stars’ 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola in Luanda.
The injury was confirmed before the appoint of Van Nistelrooy as the Foxes boss with the new manager admitting the Ghanaian’s absence is a big loss for him.
“Of course, you need some luck. I think keeping our best players fit is crucial,” the former Manchester United coach said.
“Losing Fatawu to a cruciate injury just a week before I started was a big blow. It’s a massive loss for this team.”
Issahaku had registered two assists in six Premier League starts prior to his injury.
