When it comes to feeling frisky these days, many women simply don't. It isn't because they don't want to. They do, but many find themselves simply not being "in the mood" for romance.
The reasons for a lacking libido can range from too many things on your to-do list and working too many hours to your hormones being out of whack.
This is where food comes in. Yep, good ol' simple-but-I-never-thought-of-that foods. Here are five delicious items you can work into your diet that will increase your libido, and help you work out of your clothes.
Watermelon
Coined "the new Viagra" by some experts, watermelon contains citrulline, an amino acid that relaxes blood vessels thereby increasing one's sex drive. Enjoy!
Asparagus
Asparagus is high in the B vitamin folate that helps increase your production of histamine. Histamine is important for increasing the sex drive in men and women. Plus, it has that suggestive shape.
Avocados
Loaded with potassium, avocados boost libido for both sexes. And they're rich in folic acid that provides energy and stamina – both of which are important once your libido is restored.
Chilies
If you like hot and spicy, you're in luck! Chilies contain capsaicin, a chemical which also increases blood flow and triggers the release of mood-enhancing endorphins that naturally pump up your libido.
Maca root
This lovely plant from Peru contains a chemical called p-methoxybenzyl isothiocyanate which has aphrodisiac properties. It's also packed with minerals, fatty acids and amino acids. Not bad for a root. One quick caution: It's also used by the Peruvians to increase fertility.
