The first Flex-It Medal Open Golf Championship tees off at Achimota Golf Course on Saturday, February 7.
Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of Achimota Golf Club, who announced this in Accra on Tuesday, said the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play, opened to amateur golfers in Greater Accra Region, was being sponsored by Medriech/Ernest Chemists Limited.
He said the event, the first medal competition this year, would attract a large entry of 100 golfers, including Jonathan Ane, Sam Bannerman-Wood, Gilbert Morgan and Mike Aggrey.
Mr Mark Bekoe, Medical Representative of Medreich United Kingdom, said the company was using the competition to launch the ‘Flex-It’ product and optimistic sportsmen and women would patronize it.
In another development, Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana would begin its sponsorship of Medal Competitions from February 21 to December 31, 2009.
