The Managing Director of Guinness Ghana Limited, Helene Weesie, has tasked Ghanaian football fanatics to be the core behind promoting the Malta Guinness Women's Premier League this season and beyond.
As part of developing the women's game in Ghana, Malta Guinness signed a three-year deal with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to become the headline sponsor of the Women's Premier League, starting with the 2022/23 season.
The official launching of the season was observed on Wednesday, October 12, at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
Speaking at the launch, the Managing Director of the company asked Ghanaians to patronise the league to ensure its development.
"I urge you all to support the women throughout the league. Watch the matches, share the stories, cheer the girls on and give them all the support they need," Weesie said during her presentation.

"Let us all work together to take the Malta Guinness Women's Premier League to the next level. The game is enjoyed and played by both men and women. We believe women deserve the needed support to enhance their full potential in this sport."
President of the Ghana FA, Kurt Okraku praised the efforts of his administration to ensure the progressive agenda of women's football in the country.

Okraku added, "Two-and-half years down the line, I would want to believe that all of us see a clear path for women's football. Our FA has invested and would continue to commit the right levels of investment in women's football."
The Malta Guinness Women's Premier League kicked off last weekend with 10 matches across all two zones.
