The four NPP flagbearer hopefuls who are raising issues with the party’s election register have been accused of plotting to run down the campaign of Nana Akufo Addo.
That is according to his spokesperson Dominic Nitiwul. He says it is Nana Addo’s firm belief that the decision to exclude him from Wednesday’s news conference to announce their grievances is part of a grand plan to create conditions to reject the results if he emerges victorious.
“Nana Addo was not invited; was not informed,” he said, adding, “we don’t want to say there is mischief somewhere but the evidence is pointing to that direction.”
“We believe that it is conspiracy that is why Nana Addo was not invited we believe some people are up to mischief. I think people are setting themselves up to say that we will not agree that we have lost the election.
“We do know that Nana Addo is heavily going to win the election,” he emphasized.
He however questioned the procedures the four aspirants adopted in raising their concerns.
He would have preferred that the aspirants exhausted the internal structures of the party before going public.
Meanwhile, National Chairman of the NPP Jake Obetsebi Lamptey has criticized the four presidential aspirants for breaching laid down party procedures.
He says if the aspirants had resorted to the internal party structures they would have realized that their concerns are being addressed fully.
