France youngster Michael Kouame slapped Ghana's Raphael Nii Ankrah following the Frenchman's defeat to the Ghanaian in the first round match at the International Tennis Federations' Junior World Tennis tour in Accra.
The promising French, who is a number seed in the tournament was stunned by his opponent at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the unseeded Ghanaian, who came from the Winneba Sports College Tennis Club, defeating him by 6-2, 6-7 and 7-6.
As both players proceeded to share a handshake after the game, the 15-year-old showed failed to show sportsmanship as he slapped Nii Ankrah out of frustration.
The incident saw participants of the tournament, officials and guardians rush to the court to separate the two players to prevent the situation from escalating.
The incident was then reported by the Tennis Ghana Federation, who are the organizers of the tournament.
In the development of the incident, the Tennis Federation have reportedly suspended the French youngster following their investigation.
