Black Starlets coach, Frimpong Manso, says his desire is to qualify the team to the next U-17 World Cup to be held in Mexico.
He said that, will be his focus, rather than the 5:1 score line his boys bagged against Rwanda on Sunday. But he is happy the players played according to his instructions.
The Starlets walloped the Junior Wasps by five goals to nil in an international friendly played at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra on Sunday. The match was part of the Starlets’ preparation against Zambia in their CAF U-17 Championship qualifier in a little over a fortnight.
Four of the Starlets’ goals came from Nasiru Mohammed with John Nyamekye adding the other, but on Asempa FM, Frimpong Manso said the match exposed some weaknesses in his team and he intends to correct them before the encounter against Zambia.
He said while the score line is encouraging, he was more excited about the players’ sense of purpose and output in the match and hopes they go far.
