Gospel musician and nurse Diana Hamilton has opened up about her inspiring life journey, faith and dual calling, tracing a path that spans from her early years in Ghana to an international career in both healthcare and music.
Speaking during an interview on Joy Prime’s prime-time show hosted by George Quaye, Hamilton shared personal reflections on her upbringing, education and the experiences that have shaped her into the woman she is today.
“I was born into a family of nine. I’m the third child, and I proudly call myself a Jesus girl,” she said.
Born in Accra but raised in Kumasi, Hamilton explained that her formative years were deeply influenced by strong family values, a close-knit community and a solid spiritual foundation.
She noted that Kumasi remained home throughout every stage of her life, playing a central role in shaping her identity.
Hamilton revealed that her return to Accra during her teenage years marked a significant turning point.
According to her, the move exposed her to broader opportunities and helped refine her sense of purpose, laying the groundwork for her future pursuits.
Her professional journey began at Morning Star Ghana National College, after which she enrolled at the Kumasi Nursing Training College.
Through discipline, commitment and hard work, she qualified as a nurse in Ghana, embracing a career rooted in compassion, care and service to others.
In search of wider exposure, Hamilton later relocated to the United Kingdom, where she continued practising as a nurse. It was during this period that her passion for music began to gain momentum.
What initially started quietly soon blossomed into a thriving music ministry and career. “Music took place along the line,” she said.
Rather than choosing between nursing and music, Hamilton explained that she decided to embrace both callings.
She described her journey as one driven by service, purpose and obedience to God’s call, demonstrating that faith, passion and profession can successfully coexist.
