Chief of Staff Julius Debrah set the tone for the highly anticipated CEO’s Penalty Shootout at the 2025 JoySports Invitational Tournament, held at the University of Ghana Stadium on Saturday, August 23.
Mr. Debrah performed the ceremonial first kick, officially launching the contest that saw some of Ghana’s top executives trade their corporate suits for football boots in a thrilling penalty showdown.

The crowd roared as the Chief of Staff confidently stepped up to the spot, before handing the ball over to CEOs and business leaders, who delighted fans with powerful strikes, playful misses, and surprising football flair.
In a brief address, the Chief of Staff underscored the importance of sports and fitness in national development.

“We need to inculcate the habit of engaging in lots of sporting activities. The easiest which I like is football and so we want to encourage everybody, in your neighbourhood, towns and schools, try as much as possible to work out so that you will have a healthy body. When we have a healthy body, as a country we will save money on medications,” he said.

Mr. Debrah further wished participants and the entire nation well, adding:
“On this occasion, I wish you all well, I wish the entire nation well and everything we do become successful and Ghana shall rise again.”

The CEO shootout was one of the standout moments of the opening day, adding excitement and laughter to an event that celebrates teamwork, wellness, and camaraderie across Ghana’s corporate community.
