Some Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have started reviewing prices of petroleum products at the pumps with some mixed adjustments.
Prices of petrol have reduced marginally, but prices of diesel have gone up.
GOIL is now selling a litre of petrol at GH₵12.07 from its old price of GH₵12.38 quoted on June 9, 2025.
Diesel is going for GH₵13.20 from the old price of GH₵12.88.
However, Shell has increased the price of a litre of petrol to GH₵ 12.08 from GH₵ 11.98
Diesel has also moved from GH₵12.85 quoted on June 16, 2025 to GH₵13.25 per litre.
Another OMC, PETROSOL is selling a litre of fuel for GH₵11.98, while diesel is going for GH₵13.98 per litre.
The increases in prices of petroleum products have brought to and the consecutive decline at the pumps since February 2025.
Industry Projections
The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies last week projected that petrol will be increased by 2 percent per litre, while diesel will witness some 5 percent hike per litre.
The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) has stated that there is no justification for the hikes, insisting prices should have been kept unchanged at the pumps.
Some industry observers are projecting a significant spike in the coming weeks, especially from July 16, 2025. This is because the OMCs will be required to start charging the Energy Sector Recovery Levy of one cedi.
This will result in consumers paying GH₵ 1.93 more per litre.
