The Ghana Boxing Authority is scheduled to meet tomorrow to decide on whether to punish boxers Braimah "Bukom Banku'' Kamoko and Ayittey Powers.
The duo was involved in a scuffle at the Accra Sports Stadium in the early hours of last Saturday after Bukom Banku's Cruiserweight contest against Georgian George Tevdorashvili.
Ayittey Powers gate-crashed Banku's victory and dared him for a challenge.
Kamoko is alleged to have attacked Ayittey Powers, resulting in a brawl between the two boxers.
The GBA wants to get to the bottom of the matter to suggest punitive measures if any, even though situations like that are not new to boxing according to the body's spokesperson Gifty Duodu.
"It happens in boxing. When a boxer wins, another can come in to the ring to challenge him,'' she said.
"This is not the first time Powers has challenged Bukom Banku so for us in boxing, it is no news because that’s what they do. Anytime Banku wins, Powers steps into the ring to challenge him.
"It's up to their managers to accept the challenge and I’m sure a promoter would be interested to promote that bout."
