Eight families raising children with disabilities in Klefe and Akoefe in the Ho municipality of the Volta Region have received a donation of Gh₵ 24,000.
The donation on 3rd March, 2025, is part of the Siblings Projects, an initiative aimed at alleviating the financial burden on families caring for children with disabilities.
The Siblings Projects provides seed funding to assist with specialised care, therapy, and other essential services.
Freda Cooper, the founder and project manager, highlighted the initiative’s impact, emphasising its goal of creating a supportive environment for affected families.
“We are delighted to offer this support through the Siblings Projects, which recognises the diverse and individual needs of families raising children with disabilities,” Cooper said.
“By providing seed funding, we are not only easing financial strain but also ensuring that families have the resources they need to create a positive, supportive environment for their children to thrive.”
The initiative is part of broader efforts to promote inclusive care and raise awareness of the challenges faced by families of children with disabilities.
Organisers hope the project will empower families to better support their children while improving their overall quality of life.
