The Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company Limited, Pamela Djamson-Tettey, has been honoured by President Akufo-Addo.

Mrs. Pamela Djamson-Tettey received a Legacy & Gadia State Award at this year’s Gold Award ceremony of the Head of State Awards Scheme.

The ceremony was held at the Jubilee House on Monday, December 19, 2022, under the auspices of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award and the Head of State Award (HoSA) Board of Trustees.

Under the Special honours of Legacy & Gadia State Award, Mrs. Pamela Djamson-Tettey was presented with a Gold award. The award was the President’s recognition of her demonstration of excellence in the field of her career and a show of commitment to advancing gender equality, employment and diversity.

She is a holder of the Duke of Edinburg’s Silver Award, which she gained between 1979 –1982 at Farringtons School, Chislehurst, Kent, United Kingdom.

Pamela Djamson-Tettey is currently the Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL). She has nearly 30 years of a proven track in senior management spanning various sectors such as the mining, manufacturing and power sectors.

Prior to assuming the role of Managing Director of GACL, she was the Communications & Outreach Director at the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) from 2015-2022. She has also worked at Ashanti Goldfields Company Ltd from 1994-2001 as Senior Investor Relations and Public Affairs Officer. She provided similar services to Goldfields Ghana, Tarkwa and Damang from 2010-2012.

At Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, Pamela Djamson-Tettey was an Executive Director and Director of Corporate Relations at Diageo Ghana from 2001-2009. Her responsibilities during her tenure at GGBL included a wide range of activities which entailed Corporate Communications, Public Policy, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategic Planning, Corporate Brand Reputation, Sustainable Development and key spokesperson for the company.

It was during her tenure at GGBL that she led the initiative for the use of sorghum and its value chain projects which required the establishment of a steady supply of sorghum from Northern Ghana in the production of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, popularly referred to as Guinness. The project created over 1,000 jobs for peasant farmers and reduced the use of imported raw materials such as Barley in the production of stout beer.

Pamela is also credited for initiating the Water of Life Project, providing the infrastructure for boreholes in deprived communities. The project has provided clear water to thousands of Ghanaians since its inception. Pamela continue to serve as a Non-Executive Director of State Insurance Company (SIC).
