The prelude to the launch of the 6th Ghana CEO's Summit has been held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.
This year's summit is under the theme "Digital Leadership for a Digital Economy, Leading Digital Business and Government Transformation, a Private-Public sector CEO dialogue and Learning”.
Speaking at the event, Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison said the Central Bank intends to expand its e-banking initiative by testing the offline version to areas with no internet connectivity.

“Recently, the Bank of Ghana took a major step to explore a central bank digital currency within a framework of the financial sector digitisation programme. The bank is currently piloting the issuance of the digital currency,” he said.
He revealed that the system has already been piloted at Sefwi Asafo in the Western North region.

He added that the partnership between financial technology firms and financial institutions is to strengthen the payment systems in the country to foster financial stability.
Over 500 CEO's, stakeholders and government officials are in attendance for the summit.
