Ghana’s biggest musical concert, the Ghana Meets Naija concert is set to hit the United Kingdom and United States later this month and early September respectively.
Renowned in Ghana as the biggest night for Ghanaian and Nigerian music, the musical concert takes a humorous twist with a touch of comedy for its international debut.
To achieve this, Empire Entertainment has collaborated with popular African comedian, Julius Agwu to put together the mega concert now dubbed, Ghana Meets Naija – Crack Ya Ribs.
The show is an upgrade of Julius Agwu’s popular Crack Ya Ribs comedy sessions that have consistently thrilled fans in London over the last couple of years.
According to a statement released by Empire Entertainment, the maiden show is aimed at taking the Ghana Meets Naija brand to an international audience and it is the realization of a vision that begun after last year’s musical concert.
The entertainment outfit, owned by Bola Ray added that, the collaboration with a major Nigerian icon such as Julius Agwu, further emphasizes the fact that, the Ghana Meets Naija brand is aimed at fostering unity between the two countries through entertainment.
The London event will be held on August 26, at the plush Lighthouse Hall, Camberwell and will feature performances from Ghana’s Gasmilla, as well as GH-UK acts, Kwamz N Flavour and Mr. Silva. D’Prince and hip-hop heavyweight MI will represent Nigeria.
The show will hit New York during the 7th Annual Nigerian Entertainment Awards weekend – first week of September - with top acts from Nigeria at the Symphony Space Sharp Theater, New York.
The night’s line-up of entertainers will include D’Prince, VIP, Seyi Law, Kwaw Kesse, Chii Gurl, Senator, Yvonne Nelson, Funky Bone, Lighter, and Jay Ghartey.
Ghana Meets Naija – Crack Ya Ribs is powered by Empire Entertainment, Media GH and Reellaif.
